The Sleeping Gypsy (aka La Bohemienne endormie) (1897) by Henri Rousseau is a vintage post impressionism fine art portrait painting. A woman is asleep next to her mandolin and a jug with drinking water. A lion musing over the sleeping lady in the desert with a full moon in the beautiful blue night sky. About the artist: Henri Julien Felix Rousseau (1844-1910) was a French Post Impressionist painter in the Naive genre, primitive manner or Primitivism. He was also known as Le Douanier, the customs officer.
