The Rose Garden in the Dolomites seen by Saint Cyprian is a painting by Toni Haller (Austrian, 1907-1944).
The legend says that once upon a time King Laurin fell in love with a beautiful girl and abducted her to his rose garden. When her promised man and his knights came to free her, King Laurin took his magic hood and the magic belt which gave him the force of 12 men. But the knights recognised his position by the movements of the roses and overpowered him. Thereupon King Laurin cursed the rose garden which betrayed him: no human eye should ever see its beauty again, neither by day nor by night - but he forgot the twilight. And in these short moments the Catinaccio Massif shines in beautiful red colours - a spectacular phenomenon well-known as “Enrosadira”.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
