This mid 20th century British Military History photo features searchlights piercing the sky during an air-raid practice on Gibraltar, a British fortress since the early 18th century and a vital factor in British military strategy both as a foothold on the European continent, and as a bastion of British sea power. In the photo, the searchlights aren’t intended for the use of the crew running the lights and their purpose is to help the anti-aircraft gunners spot incoming bombers in the glare from light reflecting off the fog. Photo taken on November 20, 1942.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
