The Road Of Anthracite 1903 Poster
From www.railphotoexpress.biz;
The Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad Company (DL&W or Lackawanna Railroad) was a U.S. Class 1 railroad that connected Buffalo, New York, and Hoboken, New Jersey, a distance of about 400 miles. Incorporated in 1853, the DL&W was profitable during the first two decades of the twentieth century, but its margins were gradually hurt by declining traffic in coal and competition from trucks. In 1960, the DL&W merged with rival Erie Railroad to form the Erie Lackawanna Railroad.
The Phoebe Snow Passenger Train evoked heartfelt emotions of a classy passenger train that was intent on making you feel right at home. It was Lackawanna’s Premier Train between Hoboken, New Jersey and Buffalo, New York . The term Phoebe Snow had been used as a mascot of sorts by the railroad to describe the snow white, clean services the DL&W offered since the company transported (and used) clean-burning anthracite coal. The Lackawanna Railroad offered top-notch service with the Phoebe Snow for many years.
The singer Phoebe Snow, born Phoebe Laub, took her stage name from the train.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
