The Repast of the Lion (1907) by French post-impressionist artist Henri Rousseau. The original painting is an oil on canvas, which depicts a feeding lion in a jungle setting. Rousseau derived his many jungle scenes from reading travel books and visiting the Paris botanical garden. He was a self-taught artist and is considered to be a naïve or primitive painter. His work had an extensive influence on several generations of avant-garde artists. Use the design tools to add custom text or personalise the image.
