The Red Violin Tote Bag

This piece has always held a special place in my heart. It is modelled after my own violin. In creating this piece not only did I want to create a piece of art, but I also wanted to create a playable musical instrument. I think I succeeded. The finished piece has real violin strings, a real bridge, a real end pin, and real tuning pegs. Everything else on the piece is fabric or sculpted foamcore. Before I had it framed I did play it. It sounded terrible! However, it did play just like a real violin. The piece is now in the home of a lovely lady who happens to be a piano teacher, but she fell in love with it anyway!
