Muir was an American naturalist, author and environmental philosopher who was a strong advocate for the preservation of wilderness. He is best known for his work in advocating for the preservation of Yosemite and Sequoia National Parks. The Muir Woods in California is named after him. The picture comes from Grand Teton National Park, and depicts the one of the Moulton Barns along Mormon Row, and old settlement in the Jackson Hole Valley.
