The Luminescent Cave: Print
This oil painting portrays a dream of a cave full of blazing green light. It is accompanied by stars and a creek, glowing with a warm bright orange. Above are Scorpio and Sagittarius, the constellations seen in the patch of night sky. The dark trees are still, and the faint glow of light catches the tops of leaves and the edges of trunks and rocks.
The darkness seems to hold some strange mystery deep in the trees, hidden from the shining colours. Scorpius appears to almost hide behind the rocky hillside, as the stillness and silence seem to go on and on. The otherworldly magic of the place calls for a sense of peacefulness rather than concern, as a sense of solitude permeates the nocturnal air.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
