Poster inspired by an iconic depiction of two lovers in a passionate embrace. The name of the painting is Il bacio (Italian for The kiss) and it was painted in 1859 by Milanese artist Francesco Hayez.
Francesco Hayez was the leading artist of Romanticism in mid-19th-century Milan, renowned for his grand historical paintings, political allegories, and exceptionally fine portraits.
Il Bacio is also a tribute to the romantic and patriotic ideals of the Italian unification movement (the Risorgimento), the embracing couple representing the alliance betweeen Italy and France.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
