The King and the Beggar Girl Bath Mat

The King is wearing a red robe with an elaborate gold pattern. The beggar girl is wearing simple clothes and her feet are bare. She is standing in front of the King's throne. The King himself is offering his crown to the girl. It evokes the classic rags-to-riches trope, showing that even a King can feel powerless in front of the natural beauty of a poor woman. The original title of the painting is "The King and the Beggar Maid", and it was painted by Edmund Blair Leighton in 1898.
