The Growth of our National Flag ~ Vintage Poster

The Growth of our National Flag ~ Vintage Poster

The Growth of our National Flag ~ Vintage Poster. Wonderful poster showing 6 flags and an eagle. Text reads: The Growth of our National Flag ~ 1885. 1.COLONIAL FLAG Used chiefly by colonies of New England, previous to the Revolutionary War. 2.BUNKER HILL FLAG Used by New England troops at the Battle of Bunker Hill. 3.PINE TREE FLAG OF THE NAVY ~ 'AN APPEAL TO HEAVEN' Used by the American ships early in the Revolutionary War. 4.RATTLESNAKE FLAG ~ 'DON'T TREAD ON ME'' Used early in the Revolutionary War. 5.FIRST NATIONAL FLAG Used in 1776 before the Declaration of Independence. The 13 stripes represented the 13 colonies. 6.THE PRESENT ~ 'STAR SPANGLED BANNER' The stripes signify the original 13 colonies; and the stars, the present number of States. This wonderful vintage poster, created from a vintage illustration (1885) has been beautifully enhanced and restored to its former brilliance by the artists at The Vintage Factory. We have also added a complimentary border around the image which really makes it an eye catching work of art. We have many more beautiful vintage posters too.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
