The Great Wave by Katsushika Hokusai is one of the most recognisable pieces of art in the world. Created as part of the "36 Views of Mount Fuji" series in the late 1820s, Hokusai published Kanagawa Oki Nami Ura (神奈川沖浪裏), literally, Under a wave off Kanagawa, woodcut print in 1832.
