The Good Samaritan Banner

This design features a painting by the French artist Maximilien Luce (1858–1941). It depicts the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan, which is told by Jesus in the Gospel of Luke. A traveller has been stripped of clothing, beaten and left half dead alongside the road: the Samaritan is the first person who passes to help the injured man. The parable signifies the importance of showing person to one's fellow man. The original artwork was painted in 1896.
