This is a quality reproduction of "The Chimera" ("Chimäre") by Odilon Redon, 1883. It was made with charcoal & black chalk on paper. It is in the collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum in he Netherlands. <br
In Greek mythology, the chimera is a fire-breathing monster with the head of a lion and tail of a serpent.
Redon was a French Symbolist artist known for his paintings and drawings of mythology and flowers. Although he was a contemporary of Monet and Renoir, Impressionism was not for him. Redon preferred an art of subjectivity and imagination. He was regarded by many of the Surrealists as their precursor.
This image has been professionally restored by us. It has been retouched where faded and colours have been enhanced. ~ "The Chimera" is available as a poster or a canvas print. Framing is also available.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
