The Bath of Venus (c. 1873-1879) by Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones is a vintage Victorian Pre-Raphaelite fine art mythology portrait painting. The mythological Roman Goddess of Love, Venus, with her long flowing hair taking a bath. The beautiful woman is walking down stairs to step into the water. Her musician maidens are around her to help. Some have musical instruments to play music.
About the artist:
Sir Edward Coley Burne-Jones, 1st Baronet (1833-1898) was an English artist and designer closely associated with the later phase of the Preraphaelite movement.
