The Arctic Ocean: 17x11 Print
Seascape painting of the Arctic Ocean at the shoreline north of Alaska. Low waves wash the shore with water that is fresh from the melting ice beyond the horizon in the polar region. The salt water is heavier and sinks far below. A veil of white clouds drift across the sky and off to the far horizon.
This marks the edge of the wilderness of the North Slope, facing the cold wind quietly pouring in from the open sea. The weather at the coast is cold, but mild compared to the severe winters that freeze the water and seashore into solid ice. All journeys by land going as far north as possible end here, and begin the long haul back home.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
