Thanksgiving Day at Valley Forge 1778 The troops at Valley Forge are preparing a meagre Thanksgiving meal during a snowfall. All are in uniform and wearing white wigs and tricorn hats except for the fellow exiting the tent who has a bloody bandage wrapped about his head. He's holding a rifle and bayonet. One man with his arm in a sling is stirring the contents of a small pail held over the campfire by a seated man holding the end of a pole. Two men with swords are observing. Could the one with epaulets be Washington? A vintage Thanksgiving postcard from 1912.
