Texas Flag: Longhorns, The Texan Lone Star State Poster
The Lone Star Flag: A Symbol of Texas Independence - The Texas flag, with its bold blue field and solitary white star, is one of the most recognisable state flags in the United States. Its simple yet striking design carries a rich history and powerful symbolism, reflecting the state's unique journey to independence and its enduring spirit. - History of the Lone Star Flag - The flag's origins trace back to the Texas Revolution, when Texas sought to break free from Mexican rule. In 1836, the Republic of Texas adopted its first official flag, featuring a single gold star on a blue field. This design, known as the "Burnet Flag," represented the state's aspirations for independence. - However, it wasn't until 1839 that the iconic Lone Star Flag, as we know it today, was officially adopted. This flag incorporated the red and white stripes from the Republic of Fredonia, a short-lived state that seceded from Mexico in 1826. The addition of these stripes further emphasized Texas's desire for self-governance. - Symbolism of the Lone Star Flag - The colours and star on the Texas flag hold significant meaning: Blue: Represents loyalty and devotion to the state. White: Symbolises purity and peace.  Red: Signifies bravery and the sacrifices made for independence. - Lone Star: Represents the state's individuality and independent spirit. The Lone Star Flag's Legacy - The Lone Star Flag has become a powerful symbol of Texas pride and identity. It is flown proudly across the state, representing the state's rich history, diverse culture, and unwavering spirit. The flag's enduring legacy serves as a reminder of Texas's unique place in American history and its commitment to liberty and self-determination. - The Lone Star Flag continues to inspire Texans and serve as a symbol of unity and resilience. It is a testament to the state's remarkable journey and its unwavering commitment to its own destiny.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning! The print is precise, clear and of an excellent standard. It was cleverly packaged so there wasn’t a blemish or crease. Perfect!
