This design features the flag of Tasmania (abbreviated as TAS), which is an island state of Australia. Tasmania is located 150 miles to the south of the Australian mainland, separated from it by Bass Strait. The state encompasses the main island of Tasmania, as well as the surrounding 1,000 islands. Tasmania is currently Australia's least populated state. The state capital and largest city of Tasmania is Hobart; around 40 percent of Tasmania population living in the Greater Hobart area.
