Pencil drawing on 9″×11″ sketchbook paper coloured on computer The Hermit (IX) is the ninth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks.The Hermit has internalised the lessons of life to the point that he is the lesson. The Hermit, as a kind of shamanistic hero, has made the complete journey – both the withdrawal and the return. The card shows an old man carrying a staff in one hand and a lit lantern containing a six-pointed star in the other. I decided to show the Hermit as a cloaked woman carrying a staff and instead of a lantern I put a candle.

This was exactly what was wanted for my piano crazy grandson! He is self taught & is now having lessons by a top teacher and has been asked to play at various venues in the US!
