"Be quiet. Why this anxious heed
about thy tangled ways?
God knows them all, he giveth speed,
and He allows delays. "
I found this quote tucked among the important papers that my mom told me to take "if anything happened" to her. When she passed these words were a comfort and a blessing...a gift from her in a time when I was without her.
I looked up the quote and it was published in several volumns in the 1800's, including "Daily Strength for Daily Needs" by Mary Wilder Tileston where it was attributed to an E. W. According to the Guttenburg project this book is in the public domain. You can find the full poem it was taken from in "A Dictionary of Poetical Illustrations" by Robert Aitkin Bertram (published in 1877), though unfortunately there is not more information about the author there.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
