Wu Ziqiang combines formalist aesthetics of modern design and impressionistic concept of Chinese painting to form his own style. His works leave for spectators infinite imaginative space. The background in this painting has resulted from layered tintage. The colouring is strong but not heavy and serves as a foil to the two women of the Tang Dynasty.
