Sutro Baths is a historic coastal ruin located at Lands End in San Francisco, originally built in the late 19th century by entrepreneur Adolph Sutro as a massive public saltwater swimming complex. Once an engineering marvel featuring multiple pools fed by the Pacific Ocean, it was a popular recreational destination before being destroyed by fire in 1966.
Today, the site remains as atmospheric ruins integrated into the rugged coastline, offering dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, crashing waves, and fog-draped cliffs. It is a favourite destination for hikers, photographers, and visitors exploring the scenic trails of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
