Sunset over Mormon Lake Poster
Mormon Lake is a beautiful natural area southeast of Flagstaff, Arizona. We were told we must visit it at sunset to watch the herds of Elk come from the woods to the water. We found a hillside east of the lake as the afternoon ended, and we were amazed by the flocks of large birds around the lake waters. But we could not identify them. Then, we realised that they were not birds, but the Elk we had come to see. We were too far away and, with even our best binoculars, could not see them at all clearly. It was very frustrating and disappointing. And then the sunset began. We could see no details, but we could see the whole lake and mountains. This is my favourite image of a beautiful sunset over this lovely lake in northern Arizona. There are hundreds of Elk in the photo, but none that can be seen.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
