Beautiful sunset image looking out from the top of the Mogollon Rim outside of Payson Arizona. Matching postage also available! This photo was taken at the Mogollon Rim in the Rim Country near Payson, Arizona. The Mogollon Rim forms the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau in Arizona and extends 200 miles from northern Yavapai County and runs eastward ending near the border of New Mexico. This country is filled with aspen's, pines and oaks, with a few maples sprinkled in here and there. Wildlife abounds with elk and mule deer, bears, mountain lions and coyotes, just to name a few of the species found here. Sweeping Scenic views can be found at the edge of the Rim, and there are many turn-offs along the Rim Road, where this photo was taken, where travellers often stop to enjoy the scenery.
