East Rim of the Grand Canyon at Lipan Point (7,360 ft high). The Grand Canyon on a fairly cloudy day with thunderstorms passing through proves to be quite beautiful with the interplay of light and shadow. The overall effect is a 'softening' of the Canyon. The Colorado River is at an elevation of 2,450 feet and started carving through the rock layers of the Grand Canyon 5 or 6 million years ago.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
