Summer Memories - Blue Hydrangea n Butterflies Envelope

Hand painted elements, oil pastel, and vintage ephemera have been worked into a collage image that evokes memories of a summer spent at the shore in New Jersey. Audrey Jeanne fell in love with the Victorian style cottages and their window boxes and patio pots on the porch full of flowers - especially hydrangeas. The two butterflies are inspired by botanical butterfly images but imaginatively coloured in soft coral, pink and cream with brown black edges. The background is a mix of a Moroccan antique tile pattern and hand drawn swirl elements with a letter's front and back side with postage stamps and hand written script handwriting. With a tea stained appearance that evokes a sense of age, this modern contemporary artwork was created by Audrey Jeanne Roberts, copyright 2015, all rights reserved.
