Das Geschlecht von SUE ist unbekannt; Dieser T. rex ist nach Sue Hendrickson benannt, die den Dinosaurier 1990 während einer kommerziellen Ausgrabungsreise nördlich von Faith, South Dakota, entdeckte. Hendrickson entdeckte ein paar große Wirbel, die aus einer erodierten Blase ragten, und folgte ihrer Ahnung, dass es mehr unter der Oberfläche gab. Am Ende dauerte es mit sechs Personen 17 Tage, um die Knochen des Dinosauriers aus dem Boden zu extrahieren, wo SUE entdeckt wurde. #Warum ist SUE so wichtig? Mit mehr als 40 Fuß Länge und 13 Fuß Höhe an der Hüfte ist SUE physisch das größte Tyrannosaurus rex Exemplar, das von mehr als 30 T. rex Skeletten entdeckt wurde, die gefunden wurden.
