Strawberries are Sweet CC0368 Valentine Holiday Card

Valentine card decorated with ornamental strawberry plants, arranged in a style reminding of art nouveau. In accordance with the theme of the picture the traditional Valentine verse now reads: Roses are red, Violets are blue, Strawberries are sweet - and so are You. (I can add that this is very close to what we say in Swedish, to us the sweetness comes from wild strawberries). Original image (this one is retouched) was created by Grace Carter and published by L. Prang & Co. in 1874.
