Stoddard Tiger Standard Apron
Founded in 1869, Stoddard first manufactured farm implements such as this “Tiger” sulky hay rake that Columbia is riding across the sky. By 1890 they had sold 200,000 such rakes. Later the company began building bicycles and then in 1904, reincorporated as the Dayton Motor Car Company, they built Stoddard-Dayton automobiles. It was a Stoddard-Dayton that won the first race held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in 1909 and was the pace car for the first Indianapolis 500 held in 1911.

I bought this as a little extra gift for my friend for her suprise bridal shower as we were doing a clay making class so it was to protect her outfit! But it’s so beautiful she is also going to keep it for her kitchen (she loves baking).
