Still Life: Flowers and Fruit 1850–55 is a painting by Severin Roesen. This exceptionally large still life represents Roesen at his best. It is undated but was probably painted between 1850 and 1855, when the artist was living in New York.
The elaborate and crowded composition is characteristic, as are the brilliant colour, technical virtuosity, and meticulous attention to detail expected of someone who was trained as a porcelain painter. The picture is a fine example of the excess that underlies much of Victorian design. Although this artwork is digitally restored, the cracks and the fine lines are left intact on this painting to honour the time this painting emerged from.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
