Steens Mountain Loop USA Magnet

In the remote southeast corner of Oregon, the landscape is defined by vast playas and the massive fault-block of Steens Mountain. The gravel roads stretch for miles without a turn, surrounded by sagebrush and the occasional wandering herd of wild horses. The tiny hamlet of Frenchglen, consisting of little more than a historic hotel and a few trees, appears as a miraculous green speck on the vast, sun-bleached horizon. The atmosphere is one of immense space and quiet, with a colour palette of dusty sage, pale straw, and an endless, deep blue sky.
