Location: Floating some place in a boat
This is the engine room for a steamship named "The city of Cleveland". Downstairs is probably where they shoveled all the coal.
With only one person, and a series of levers, they could control the entire boat. It was probably a sight to behold, quiet pistons working in and out, but they were huge, and probably a bit intimidating up close.
