Original Title: Merchants' Despatch Transportation Co Machine Shop
Location: Despatch Drive, East Rochester, NY
We are standing in the engine room of the Merchants' Despatch transportation company. They made refrigerated box cars. They were a huge company, spanning out to some 66 acres. All kinds of power tools and small lights all needed electricity.
This is a horizontal steam engine, I believe from Hamilton Coal. They create the power needed to run this place.
