ABOUT THIS IMAGE
"They All Look Good When They're Far Away" (a.k.a. "Starving Young Writer"); Rube Goldberg comic strip, November 1, 1911.
Panel #1: A starving young writer, tipped on a stool and leaning against a chair in his home, says, "If I could only get one of my stories accepted I'd be a made man."
Panel #2: The young man, 'standing' on his elbows, says "A meal, a meal...my kingdom for a meal!
Panel #3: A man (presumably, the postman) at the front door announces, "A letter for you sir." The young author says, "The only time I get a letter is when there's a death in my family."
Panel #4: He reads the letter: "'Dear sir: Your story accepted for next month's issue---will mail check this evening.' I'll go out and celebrate with Irene."
Panel #5: At the restaurant with Irene, the soon-to-be-published writer says to the waiter, "Waiter bring us the swellest dinner you can serve and buy yourself a shave and a haircut."
Panel #6: Still at the restaurant, the young man receives a letter/telegram. The delivery-/post-man asks, "Is there any answer?" The young writer reads the letter, "Enclosed find $2.30 in full payment for your story."
Panel #7: Waiter brings the check to the table. "The check is $28.40 sir."
Panel #8: The young man is carried out by the shirt collar by a policeman carrying a billy club, and grumbles, "They all look good when they're far away."
ABOUT RUBE GOLDBERG COMICS
Although probably best known for drawings of highly complicated machines that performed simple tasks, now known as "Rube Goldberg machines" or "Rube Goldberg inventions," Goldberg actually penned a treasure trove of other cartoons dealing with political, social and comical themes. He created such panel cartoons as Telephonies, Foolish Questions, What Are You Kicking About?, etc., but many of his strips did not deal with a central character, but rather, a one-time theme, which changed from one cartoon to the next. (Such comic strips are featured in my store Under the store category "Rube Goldberg miscellaneous.")

The Shirt itself is a really nice, high quality material. Its quite thick and the colour is spot on whats in the pictures. The print is 100% what I wanted and the overall product is amazing. I ordered a 2XL which is already pretty big, it came a lot larger than I expected so next time i would order a smaller size, but thats down to me. It came just in time and the staff were super helpful in speeding up the shipping process for me so it would arrive on time. The printing turned out better than i could've imagined. I was very skeptical at first and wasnt sure how it was going to look, but it honestly looks awesome. So happy with it :)
