CVI parents and providers log a *lot* of miles on our travels supporting students with cortical visual impairment (CVI), the leading cause of visual impairment in children. Help spread awareness of CVI, even when you are on the road. Fill up on your favourite coffee or tea and bring it along to in-service trainings, assessments, consults, and especially IEP meetings. Parents, the regular schedule of medical appointments, assessments, therapy appointments, early intervention and school meetings, often begins in your child's infancy, and you won't get through it without coffee (later on, when things settle down - and it will settle down - you might switch to tea). Take your travel mug to appointments with the paediatrician, neurologist, ophthalmologist, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech therapist, feeding therapist. Set that mug firmly down on the table at the IEP team meeting, with no apologies.
