Starlit River Awaiting Scorpio: 24x18 Print
Night sky painting showing true to life constellations and stars on a dark night above a river. Scorpio, also known as Scorpius, is rising and partway above the horizon, as Antares arrives and is reflected in the water below. The moon is a thin crescent with the earth's light showing its subtle disc, as the milky way galaxy arcs across the black space above.
The reflection of the nocturnal sky in the waterway gently drifts across the surface. The stars shimmer above with hints of colour like jewels in the sky. The celestial light gives a sense of looking off into infinity as it seems to intensify with the presence of darkness. A sense of calm serenity arrives as the immensity of the universe is perceived. With it comes the knowledge that this is one small place at one small moment in time.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
