This purple starfish is a photograph taken on a Florida beach, where there are lots of purple starfish on the sand. The name is a Royal Starfish, marked by its purple colour, with orange around the edges. This starfish is really a sea star, much thinner than a real starfish. The Royal Sea Star is more fragile than a regular starfish, and beachcombers scramble for these beautiful little sea creatures.
