He was a prominent senator in Constantinople known for his kindness and faith. When their sons became older, they were lost in a shipwreck. Xenophon and his wife miraculously were reunited with them in Jerusalem, and the parents found out their sons became monks. Inspired by their children, Xenophon and his wife gave away their wealth and became monastics themselves.
