St. Notburga of Rattenberg Notecard

St. Notburga, a wonder-working mediaeval peasant-girl, lived a life of quiet piety in the Tirol. Known for her insistence for taking Saturday night off to attend Vespers at a nearby church, she was once prevented from doing so by her overseer, saying the moon was in the wrong phase: bad weather was expected the next day and they had to finish the job. She told him, "Let's let my sickle decide, shall we?" and tossed it into the air where it hung, like a crescent moon indicating fair weather the next day. She is patron saint of sundays and evenings off from work, farm-workers, waitresses, and waiters, and is shown wearing (often rather anachronistic) Austrian folk costume.
