St. Matthias the Apostle (JMAS 09) Coffee Mug

St. Matthias (1st century) was chosen by lot in the interim between the Ascension and Pentecost to replace Judas Iscariot as an Apostle. Traditions vary somewhat about his post-selection ministry but agree that he suffered martyrdom. Here, he shoulders an axe as its instrument; in other representations, he may carry a spear or halberd. The quality of these larger mugs is very good. I have been putting mine through the dishwasher all the time and it shows no signs of fading or dulling. Ergonomically these are lovely to hold and have fast become my favourite mug for a big cup of tea or coffee. Totally recommend getting the tea infuser with the mug especially if you like using loose leaf tea, which always tastes better from my experience and is better for the environment. Printing was good, bright and most importantly accurately matches the colouring shown on the website.
