Virtually ignored for many centuries because his given name sounded suspiciously like the name of Christ’s betrayer Judas Iscariot, St. Jude Thaddeus was infrequently invoked in prayer until the Lord Himself revealed to various saints through visions Jude’s powerful role as intercessor in dire situations.
