St. Eudokia Orthodox Christian Prayer Card

St. Eudokia was a Samaritan woman who lived in the early days of Christianity. Eudokia was very beautiful and acquired her wealth by attracting wealthy lovers. She learned about Christianity from a monk. According to legend, Eudokia asked him if she, too, could be saved from Judgment. the monk instructed her to remain alone in her chamber for one week, fasting and praying. Eudokia followed his instructions, and at the end of the week, the monk told her to give away her wealth and to put her previous life behind her. She was later baptised. She entered a monastery and dispensed much of her wealth in various charitable projects. She rejected all of her suitors but one was so persistent that he was struck down. Eudokia prayed for him, he recovered and converted to Christianity. Roman officials didn't like it and beheaded Eudokia in 107 A.D.
