Soviet Circus, Bishkek Frunze, Kyrgyzstan Poster

Bishkek is known for its large stock of buildings from the Soviet era. Bishkek, then called Frunze, was capital of the Kyrgyz Soviet Socialist Republic. Some say Bishkek today is reminiscent of Moscow in the 1980's. Not for long though, as Bishkek is in the midst of a real estate boom. Modern apartment buildings and shopping malls are quickly replacing some of Bishkek's communist style designs. The Bishkek Circus was built in 1976, and is a great example of Soviet inspired design in Kyrgyzstan.

I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs. it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
