Traditionally, the so-called "Risk Rule" prevented women from marching into "harm's way." On October 1, 1994, this decree was rescinded. Soldier Mum, honoured by the Gulf War Veterans Association for accurately portraying the lives of solders, confronts the issues surrounding this inciteful decision which holds the potential for social significance comparable to the passage of women's suffrage. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!
