Janome T-Shirt

The name 'Janome' is derived from the pattern resembling a snake's eye, but its original form is a 'Tsurumaki' (a coil for storing备用 bowstrings) that samurai warriors wore on their left waist during battles, attached to the waist belt of their 'Ebira' (quiver) after donning their armor (according to 'Kamon no Jiten' by Takasawa et al.). The Tsurumaki is a leather or rattan bow accessory used to coil bowstrings, worn by armored warriors at their waist as a ring, resembling a snake's eye. Later, due to its resemblance to a snake's eye, it was referred to as the 'Janome' crest (according to 'Nihon no Monsho' edited by Ito Kosaku).
