Silver Candelabra (green) - Ceramic Ornament

Magnolias have been a favourite flower of mine since my childhood when I would admire a copy of a magnolia painting by artist 'Vesty Rich' on my grandparents' wall. Taking the basic shapes of the magnolias, I designed and painted this artwork using silver and white acrylic paints on canvas. The shapes of the flowers sitting upright on the stems reminded me of a candelabra and so I named the work 'Silver Candelabra'. The birds sit quietly in their silvery white refuge, observing their surroundings as the promise of spring and all its goodness is in the air.

I was extremely happy to find a tree ornament for my Occupational Therapist daughter. (I bought one a few years ago for my Paramedic son) & prior to seeing this I was trying to work out how I could create something similar for her.
