"Sign of Our Parting" - a phrase from the Edgar Allan Poe masterpiece "The Raven." This of course is one of the instalments in my series of paintings called "Once Upon a Midnight Dreary" - a collection of original paintings and figurines (limited edition statues from the Hamilton Collection / Bradford Exchange are now available). Each piece has a raven-winged fairy and her birdie friends with a decidedly goth feel. This beauty sits in front of a starry sky showing the phases of the moon - raven wings - and a candle blazing atop a skull. Cool! I debuted it at the Avalon Faery Fayre in Glastonbury, England 2011. I hung this in the stairwell of our house, near some other Renoir pictures. My daughter says it looks like she is looking at her when she walks up the stairs.
it's called "The Excursionist", she is holding a walking stick. Renoir was an impressionist, I don't think this is an actual person. The finished framed picture arrived and looks better than the online pic - Beautiful!

Absolutely superb Art Deco poster. The colours are vibrant, sympathetic to the era and perfect for use. I framed it and hung above the entrance to my Art Deco inspired lounge room. Stunning!
