SHABLAM! Straight from ballroom culture and vogueing, this move is actually called a 'dip'. A dip is a category of movement. Whether it’s hard and dramatic, or soft and slow, the movement is still a dip. When people do a dip, you hear something that sounds like “shablam” (it's actually 'shawham') either from the person on the mic or the crowd. It's an onomatopoeic cue that goes along with the move; an emphasizing of the crash in the song. Still, shablam! feels more dramatic and has been immortalized in Todrick Hall's 'Haus Party', so we'll just leave it at that. The perfect gift for any Drag Race fan.
