Self Portrait (1890) by French post-impressionist artist Henri Rousseau. The original painting is an oil on canvas depicting a self-portrait of the artist with brush and palette in hand. He stands in front of a Paris landscape with the Eiffel Tower and a ship decorated with world flags behind him. Rousseau was a self-taught artist and is considered to be a naïve or primitive painter. I was extremely happy to find a tree ornament for my Occupational Therapist daughter. (I bought one a few years ago for my Paramedic son) & prior to seeing this I was trying to work out how I could create something similar for her.
